Home Insulation

Most of the homes we audit have less than half the recommended attic insulation that is recommended in our climate by the U.S. Department of Energy. The Department of Energy estimates that a properly insulated attic can shave 10-50 percent off your heating and air conditioning  bill. Even homes that were properly insulated when new can experience degradation due to roof leaks, squirrels, birds mice or raccoons that have destroyed the insulation, and contractors such as cable TV installers, electricians, solar installers etc often disturb the insulation and don’t fix it when they leave. This can create comfort issues and high energy bills for you.

Energy Geeks can help improve insulation in attics, walls, crawlspaces and basements and even garage ceilings when there is living space above the garage.

Insulation Removal

In the unfortunate event that your attic insulation was damaged by roof leaks or pest infestation the best solution is removal and replacement of the insulation. Energy Geeks can vacuum out your attic, properly air seal and then fill your attic back up with fresh new insulation.

Blower door testing for new homes and remodels

Some municipalities are now requiring an independent certified energy auditor to provide blower door testing to assure homes meet the required energy code.   Energy Geeks provides this service to contractors.

Found these guys on Home Advisor while looking for a home energy audit/ blown in insulation company. Cannot recommend them enough. Highly professional, excellent communication, and extremely thorough energy audit report. They'll even let you know about Xcel rebates you might qualify for AND submit all the paperwork for you. I just got a rebate check from Xcel that I couldn't believe. I wish every company did business like this.
